Case Study: Neat use of silhouettes

Bricbar

Bricbar is one of those Flash sites, which make it slow to load, needlessly cumbersome to navigate and a nuisance to visit, as it interrupts my podcast listening with its own soundtrack. Still, it does have Neat use of silhouettes:

It's an innovative spin on the ipod style:

Why it works

Although it adds new life to the ipod style, it still adheres to the key principle of contrast. The colours of the bubbles allow the silhouettes to jump forwards, creating an eye catching image.
