Case Study: Interesting Magazine Style Website

Huge

Huge has a interesting magazine style.

Key Features

Large text and Images Lagre bold text and images are key to creating the magazine style. The headlines are shot and snappy, which allows them to be extraordinarily large. Images tend to be silhouetted, often zooming on a particular item, which allows them to have the same impact as the text. The site extends the effect, by having images extend over border lines, which gives them further impact even when they are small in size (such as the chicken on the "Complete Package" page).

Grid Structure All the pages have definite magazine style grid structure. Content pages have fewer columns, which allows photos to be large and have impact. Index pages have more columns, allowing them to present more snap shots of content.

Often the grid structure is presented explicitly through the use of rules. Darker rules are used to separate different sections of content, while grey rules connect similar sections.
