Case Study: Examples of Continuation

Sometimes when you design a good front page, its hard to to continue the design on to the sub pages.

Here are some examples of sites that have good continuation: Verb Verb uses a blue diving background. This not only creates continuation, but it also helps to add organisation to the page. (Although its debatable if the organisation creates too strong a visual break).

Box boxbox

Box's use of continuation is very similar to Virb, just in reverse. Elements like the white cloud are a good way to integrate the blue style with the white area.

Core core core core Core uses a black bar to establish continuity. A graph paper background helps to tie everything together.

Electroline Electroline Electroline Electroline

Electroline establishes continuity through uses of images in boxes. It works quite well, although it does make the layout feel 'boxy'.
